NRG Energy Scoops Up 9 Solar Projects Out West

NRG Energy just scooped up a portfolio of nine solar development projects in California and Arizona. Through subsidiary NRG Solar, the New Jersey-based power producer has bought the projects for an undisclosed price from US Solar Ventures Holdings.

The Department of Energy this morning announced the tenth award for a clean energy project under the long delayed loan guaranteed program. Oregon-based U.S. Geothermal has won the latest award, on a conditional basis, for $102.2 million.

JinkoSolar IPO: China Solar Manufacturer Makes Its Debut

JinkoSolar Holding, a China-based solar manufacturer, priced shares for its IPO and began trading Friday at $11 apiece — the low end of the expected range. In morning trading, Jinko’s stock has dipped as low as $10.80 and hit a high of $11.23.
