Biofuels Bits: Rentech secures debt, SG secures former Diversa CEO Jay Short, Biofuels Digest secures Top 100 Green site designation

Biofuels Bits: Rentech announced that Rentech Energy Midwest Corporation (REMC), its wholly-owned nitrogen fertilizer operation, secured $62.5 million of debt financing.

SG Biofuels announced the addition of Dr. Jay Short to its board of advisors.   Dr. Short was a founder of Diversa Corporation (now Verenium) where he served in multiple roles over his 11 year tenure, which concluded in 2005, including CEO, President and Chief Technology Officer.

Technorati has named Biofuels Digest one of its Top 100 Green sites. The rating system is traffic-based. Overall, Biofuels Digest is now ranked #2191 in the world, out of more than 1.1 million sites sites tracked by the popular Technorati indexes.
