SolveClimate.com has published a short but highly useful summary of the development of the algal fuels industry, plus looked at the future of drop-in fuels vs the future of ethanol, in a report occasioned by the DOE’s two grants to the National Alliance for Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts and National Advanced Biofuels Consortium.

The NAABB is prepping a “a systems approach for sustainable commercialization” of algae-based gasoline, diesel and jet fuel,” while the NABC is developing drop-in renewable fuels.
