Indian college to research karanja, jatropha biodiesel from microbial enzyme catalysts
In India, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women will undertake research on biodiesel production from karanja and jatropha oil using microbial enzyme catalysts. R.S. Meerabai, Associate Professor of the Department of Botany, as Principal Investigator proposes to identify lipase producing microbes, and to optimize process parameters for high lipase production and application to the transesterification of Jatropha and Karanja oil for biodiesel production.
