Got government waste? Novozymes demos car running on biofuels made from government scrap paper

Those who have railed against government waste and inefficiency — numbering, presumably, in the millions if not billions of critics — can take special satisfaction from the news that Danish enzyme producer Novozymes will demonstrate the world’s first car powered by, literally,  government waste. Yes, a flex-fuel Chevy HHR will be powered by fuel made from government paper waste, and will be available for test drives January 26th in the US, at the Washington Auto Show in DC.

Meanwhile, Novozymes announced that its operating profit for 2009 increased 12 percent over 2008, with profit margins increasing to 20 percent from 18.5 percent. The company projected sales growth of up to 6 percent in 2010, with up to 13 percent profit growth.
