66 percent of Iowans support state B5 biodiesel mandate
In Iowa, 66 percent of voters, surveyed by Moore Information in December, said that they support a state B5 biodiesel mandate, as proposed in the Iowa Biodiesel Fuel Quality Standard legislation.
The legislation, as proposed, would create a 45 Mgy market for biodiesel in Iowa. Only 16 percent of Iowans opposed the mandate, and according to a report in agriculture.com, more than 80 percent of Iowans said that they would use biodiesel if they could.
