$300 million, 50 Mgy sugarcane ethanol plant planned for The Philippines
In the Philippines, an unnamed South Korean company has committed to investing $300 million towards construction of a 40 Mgy sugarcane ethanol plant in Clark. The plant will utilize more than 30,000 acres of sugarcane from Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, and Tarlac, and will complete construction in 2012.
The facility will also supply 40 MW of renewable power to outside customers. put up what may be the largest bioethanol facility in Asia capable of generating its own power supply. Local partner Central Luzon Bioenergy will manage the sugarcane plantation operations.
